Тіл – елдің елдігінің, оның ғылымы мен мәдениетінің, өнеркәсібінің, қоғамдық құрылысының, салт-санасының, жауынгерлік дәстүрінің, ұлттық мұрасының қай дәрежеде екенін білдіріп тұратын көрсеткіш.

Қазақ тілі – қазақ халқының басты рухани байлығы, егер тіл жойылса адам болмысыда жойылады. Адамның ой-өрісі өз тілінде дамып жетілгенде ғана құндылығы артады. Ұлттың болашағы – оның ана тілінде. Ана тілі – ананың ақ сүтімен әр қазақ баласының бойына сіңген тіл емеспе еді, өз ана тілін ұмытқан адам – өз халқының өткенінен де, болашағынан да қол үзеді. Алайда осыны ескермей орыс тілінде шүлдірлеп, қазақ тілінде сөйлеуді намыс санап жүрген жастарымыз қаншама, жастарды айтпағанда үлкен ата –әжелеріміз немерелерінің орыс тілінде сөйлеген сөздеріне мәз болып жүргенін көргенде жүрегің қан жылайды. Қазақ халқы талай қиын замандардан өткені, қайғылы күндердің болғаны тарихтан белгілі. Сондай ауыр сәттерде, атамекен қонысын тастап босқан халықтың өзімен бірге алып жүрген байлығы осы ана тіліміз.
Дүние жүзі бойынша шамамен жеті мыңға жуық тіл болса солардың ішінде сөз байлығы жағынан қазақ тілінің алар орны ерекше, өйткені қазақ тілінің сөздік қоры 2,5 миллион сөзден тұрады екен. Ресейлік шығыстанушы –түрколог В.Радлов XIX ғасырдың өзінде «Әлем тілдерінің ішінен тек үш тілдің ұлылығын мойындадым. Ол – орыс, француз және қазақ тілі» деп жазған екен. Әлем мойындаған ғалымның мұндай сөзі көп нәрсені білдіреді. Жалпы, қазақ тілінің бай екенін одан басқа С.Малов, А.Брем, А.Янушкевич секілді әлемге танылған түркітанушылар да айтқан. Өкінішке орай, біздер осы ана тіліміздің байлығын біле бермейміз. Осы ана тілімізді біз ары қарай дамытып, жетілдіріп, ұрпақтан ұрпаққа жеткізуіміз керек. Ана тіліміз еліміздегі халықтардың барлық іс-әрекетінің, қарым-қатынасының құралы болуы тиіс, оның мәдениетін көтеру әрбіріміздің борышымыз. Бұрынғы даналардан қалған: «Қанша тілді білсең, сонша мәдениеттісің, сонша байсың» деген сөз бар. Әрине, құптауға боларлық, алайда өзге тілді білемін деп жүргенде өз тілімізден көз жазып қалмайық! Тіл тағдыры – ел тағдыры екенін еш уақытта ұмытпайық.
